As with other cults, the core of aqiqah is as the embodiment or an institution of faith. For, as expressed in his book Doctor Nurcholis Madjid, Islam Doctrine and Civilization, a different faith with the system of science and philosophy that only the dimension of rationality. Faith has a spiritual dimension or tangible suprarasional on the actions and services through a system of worship. If not, then faith will only be an abstract formulation, without the ability to give impetus to the human mind to do good.
But remember, that worship is not at all for the sake of Allah. Although all humans on earth do not want to worship, God will not cease to be a god. God did not need anything from man. God does not need animal flesh from aqiqah.
On the one hand, aqiqah of wisdom that is intrinsic as income (taqarrub) to God. While on the other hand, implies an instrumental aqiqah as private and public education efforts towards the binding commitment or inward to the pious charity. In other words, worship is a servant who believe that nurture and foster awareness of the tasks of personal and social.
That is why aqiqah not just any dinner party.
Practice may be just as impressive, but its essence is much broader than the notion junket. As told by DR. Abdullah Nashih Ulwan in book Tarbiyatul Aulad wisdom aqiqah fi al Islam, among others, namely:
a. Aqiqah is a sacrifice that will draw children to God early days of his life menghirupkan air.
b. Aqiqah a ransom for children of various calamities, as God has redeemed as Ismail., With animal sacrifice.
c. As a child of debt payments so that later on the day of Resurrection he can give to his parents intercede.
d. Is a medium to show gratitude for the success of implementing the Islamic Shari'a and the increased generation of believers.
e. Tighten the brotherhood among fellow community members. In this case aqiqah could become a vehicle for ongoing communication and a healthy social interaction.
Thus there is some wisdom behind Shari'a aqiqah, besides of course there are many other lessons-lessons that had not given here, or even still stored in the secret of God is infinite. However, from the description above would be concluded, that with all his rules danhukum-law, God did not want to complicate or imposing man. God does not even require any kind of human being. All that was ordered and is forbidden for human benefit. And Allah knows best.
